Coleman’s BlackOut Octagon tent is in a league of its own. Based on the best-selling Octagon tent it is quite unlike anything else in the camping market. Designed to be used in multiple ways, whether it is for a couple, a small family, a festival or even for accommodating a group of Scouts you can make the tent suit to your needs. The Octagon has a robust structure thanks to steel poles which simply pop into heavy-duty plastic joints which are pre-attached to the inner tent. This makes the tent easy to pitch as seen from our Attwooll Pitching video. Simply pitch the mesh inner tent and attach the waterproof flysheet over the top. As all of the panels have mesh built into them, airflow inside the tent is brilliant and the tent can be pitched without the flysheet.

Coleman has been revolutionary in creating the only BlackOut Bedrooms on the market; the Blackout Bedrooms block out up to 99% of daylight, helping you and your family get a longer, more restful sleep, whatever time you choose to go to bed or get up in the morning. Not only do they help reduce the light, but they also help to make the temperature up to 5°C cooler on a warm day and 4°C warmer during the night.

One of the joys of the Octagon tent is that you get 360-degree views from inside the tent as each panel can tie back like curtains to give you a very homely feel. If privacy is what you are after for the night, then you can simply un-toggle the panels and zip them up to keep the wind out and also the rain. There are two doorways in the tent: one has its own rain safe canopy over the top which is designed to stop the water from dripping in off the roof. This same door also has Colemans Patented Hinged Door which again adds to that homely feel. (The door doesn’t have to be used in this way if preferred). The other door is located opposite the D door to give you the option to change the route into the tent if the weather changes direction.

An oversized wheelie bag comes as standard with the tent to make it easier to move from one place to another. High visibility guylines help to brace the tent and give stability for those windier days while due to the dome design of the Octagon the tent will be fairly stable from the off.
